Alliance Française de Halifax

TCFTEF

Alliance Française de Halifax runs both TEF Canada and TCF Canada and sells each date through its online store, where a date is either open to add to your cart or marked full. New dates typically appear 30 to 45 days ahead, although recent batches have gone on sale up to about 12 weeks before the exam. If the calendar looks empty, the next batch may simply not be out yet.

How this centre releases seats

Live seat counter
The centre lists each date with the seats left, and seats can appear at any time when dates are added or someone cancels.

Tips from candidates and the centre

  • An empty calendar means sessions are full or not yet released. Check again around 30 to 45 days before the period you want.
  • All four TEF tests are taken on the same day.
  • TEF Canada costs $390 here and TCF Canada $400, so the TEF is $10 cheaper.
  • Bookings can’t be moved to another Alliance Française. A change in Halifax is considered only in exceptional circumstances, with documents sent at least 7 days before the test.
  • Bring your passport. If you’re refused entry, you lose the fee and must wait one month before applying again.
  • The office is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00, and also answers on 902-455-4411.
