How the test works

Short, adaptive and built around the TCF Canada format, so the result means something.

  1. 1. Listen

Four real-life recordings, from a voicemail to a radio debate. Each plays once, with one replay.

  2. 2. Read

Four short texts in the exam’s style. Questions get harder when you’re right and easier when you’re not.

  3. 3. Speak

Read a sentence aloud and answer one question. You get a level and one tip to improve.

How accurate is it?

Eight adaptive questions and two speaking tasks give a solid first estimate, not an exam result. We show a likely range for each skill instead of pretending to be exact. Listening and reading scores use the official TCF CEFR bands and IRCC’s NCLC tables; speaking uses our AI examiner when it’s available and a clearly labelled estimate when it isn’t.
