The three tasks

What you’ll say

The situations below are our own practice examples in the official format, not official test items.

  • Tâche 1 · 2 min · no prep

    Guided interview

The examiner asks you to introduce yourself: background, work or studies, family, hobbies, plans. Expect follow-up questions.

    « Est-ce que vous pouvez vous présenter ? »
  • Tâche 2 · 2 min prep + 3 min 30

    Interaction

Role-play an everyday situation and ask the examiner questions to get information. The examiner plays the other person.

« Vous téléphonez à un centre sportif pour inscrire votre enfant. »
  • Tâche 3 · 4 min 30 · no prep

    Expressing an opinion

Give your view on a statement and defend it with arguments and examples.

« Les villes devraient interdire les voitures dans leur centre. »

Strategy

Speak with confidence

  1. Prepare a 2-minute introduction

Have a natural, flexible self-presentation ready for task 1.

  2. Plan 8–10 question topics

In the 2 minutes of preparation for task 2, think of topics (price, schedule, level, equipment) rather than full sentences.

  3. Structure your opinion

Opinion, two or three arguments with examples, counter-argument, conclusion.

  4. It’s fine to ask for repetition

« Pourriez-vous répéter, s’il vous plaît ? » is natural and costs nothing.
