Level

How to play

  1. 1Read the sentence in English.
  2. 2Tap the French words in the right order.
  3. 3Use a hint if you get stuck (you earn less XP).

What it trains

French word order in 96 sentences: where object pronouns go (je le lui donne), how the negation wraps the verb (je ne l’ai pas vu), and how compound tenses are built.

Why it matters for TCF and TEF Canada

Word order is where English instincts mislead most. Building sentences yourself trains the patterns you need to write and speak without translating in your head.

Rules and tips to remember

  • Object pronouns go before the verb

    Je la vois, je lui parle, j’y vais. With two pronouns: me/te/se/nous/vous → le/la/les → lui/leur → y → en.

  • Negation wraps the conjugated verb

Je ne parle pas; in compound tenses it wraps the auxiliary: je n’ai pas parlé. With pronouns: je ne le lui ai pas dit.

  • Start from the verb

Find the conjugated verb first, put the subject before it, then place the pronouns and the negation around it.
