On 1 October 2026, IRCC held round #447, a trade occupations round ("Trades Occupations, 2026-Version 3"). It issued 3,500 invitations with a minimum CRS score of 476. This is the most recent Express Entry round as of 5 October 2026.

What changed

  • Tie-breaking rule: candidates with exactly 476 points were invited if they submitted their profile before 28 May 2026 at 16:55:23 UTC.
  • This was the second trades round of 2026. The first, on 2 April 2026 (#408), invited 3,000 candidates with a cut-off of 477, so the cut-off barely moved.
  • It came two days after a Canadian Experience Class round on 29 September 2026 (2,000 invitations, CRS 518).

Category rounds (trades, healthcare, senior managers, French) only consider candidates who meet that category's conditions, so their cut-offs are not directly comparable with CEC rounds.

Who it affects

  • Skilled trades workers in the pool who have at least 12 months of work experience within the last 3 years in one of the trade occupations IRCC lists for 2026. For 2026, IRCC raised this minimum from 6 months to 12 months.
  • Everyone else was not eligible for this round, whatever their score.
  • French speakers in the trades: if you have NCLC 7 in all four French abilities, you may be eligible for both trades rounds and French-language rounds. In 2026, French rounds have had cut-offs between 382 and 420, lower than this round's 476.

What to do now

  1. If you were invited: the invitation is valid for 60 days. Make sure your language test results will still be less than 2 years old on the day you submit.
  2. Check your score: use the CRS calculator and compare with recent rounds in the full draw history.
  3. If you're working on French: check if you meet NCLC 7 in every skill, and see how French adds points in French for Express Entry and in our guide to how many CRS points French is worth.
